My Week and Currently :)

I had totally planned on posting yesterday for Five for Friday, but I just ran out of time because I went to a concert last night.  :)

We finished up our Dr. Seuss unit this week.  My kiddos were LOVING all the Seuss books we read.

I brought out all the "fun" stuff for Friday.  Here is a peek at what a couple things we did on Friday.  We made Dr. Seuss hats and bow ties.  We got these patterns from my good bloggy friend Elizabeth.  Click {here} if you are interested. {Sorry for the goofy picture.  This is from in the staff bathroom at my school.  Not ideal picture taking situation!}

We made green "eggs" which was really just green pudding and a vanilla wafer.  The students loved this!  :)  I loved it because it was super easy to make.  It didn't take much prep at all!

Here are a couple of sweeties enjoying the green eggs and ham! :)

I am also linking up with Farley for March Currently.  I love the Currently linky.  I love seeing what everyone else says on their posts as well.  If you haven't linked up yet, click {here} and go do it!

Listening:  I am listening to my Maroon 5 pandora station.  Last night, they came to town and I went to the concert.  Owl City, Neon Trees, and Maroon 5.......we had a blast!  I went with my sister-in-law and two of my nieces.  Only got a pic with one of them though.

{My sweet niece Alyssa and a view of Adam Levine from the big screen at the concert.}

Loving:  Mixing up my wardrobe.....for the first time ever I wore a belt over my shirt.  My hubby thinks it looks stupid to wear a belt over a shirt, but my co-workers gave me compliments.  I thought I looked o.k.

Thinking:  I am still in my pajamas {don't judge :)} and I don't want to get out of them.  Since we aren't going anywhere today, I think I shall stay in them all day long!  Everybody needs a pajama day every once in awhile.

Wanting:  I will be gone two days this week to go to the IL Kindergarten conference.  I am super excited about it.  But this also means two days worth of sub plans.  I keep putting it off.  I am totally revamping my sub binder and I think I might add it to TpT {not sure if it is something anyone would want}.  Anyways, with revamping that and writing sub plans I just have a lot to do.  Actually that was the whole reason I got on the computer today, but I haven't even opened my sub binder file yet :)

Needing:  I have a few TpT creations in the works and I haven't finished any of them yet.  I was hoping to get one or two of them posted before I leave for this conference.  Once again, this was part of the reason I got on the computer today, but I am having way too much fun reading blogs and commenting that I haven't started on that yet either.  Focus Amanda!

Like:  Apples......I can eat an apple a day every day.  It's a great healthy snack!  :)

Love:  I may be cheating a bit by saying "A Good Book" but I am having a hard time focusing....see "needing".  I love to read a good book.  I need to find some new books to start on.  Anyone have any recommendations?  I would love to hear them.

Hate:  People who are always late.  I hate it when someone says they will be at your house at 1:00 and then they don't arrive until 1:15 or 1:30.  Now granted, I know that sometimes things happen out of our control, but I generally am an early person because I don't want to be late myself.  I also hate tardiness at school.  I have some students who are tardy on a regular basis and it just throws their entire morning off.

Well I think I have procrastinated enough for today......on to get some things done for the week.  Be looking out for some new TpT products from me :)  One will be some new dinosaur themed math centers.  Anyone feel like they have something they want me to include in the math centers......please email me or comment below!  I also have a couple emergent reader books I will adding soon.

Have a great rest of your weekend everyone!

  1. I love the Dr. Seuss activities! I will definitely have to make myself a note of them for next time I do a Dr. Seuss theme!

    I totally understand the "late" issue! I am not so much the early person, but I do like to be on time. Nothing bugs me more than going to a conference or inservice and seeing teachers walk in 30 minutes after it has started...

    Happy Saturday sweet friend!

  3. Your outfit LOOKS GREAT!!!! Belts change outfits! I share my outfits from the week on my blog... because I'm a fashion nerd. So get it girl!!!

    Also, I highly recommend Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. It's THE best book I've read in a while it is riveting, funny and unexpected. Nothing happens the way you think it will and I could not put it down!

    Have a great rest of your PJ Day! (That's what I'm doing too :))

  6. I think the "Green Eggs and Ham" look great. It seems so much easier than cooking eggs with green dye! Plus, I'm sure the kiddos like it MUCH better. :) I will have to remember this idea for next year.

  9. First of all - YOU LOOK ADORABLE! In both outfits, I might add! Love the Dr. Seuss hat and bow. I'm super excited about the conference, and I cannot wait to hear all the deets! It is Thursday and Friday right?

    I really like the green eggs and ham idea. Super easy and yummy! I will be saving that for next year for sure :)

    Ok, now don't hate me, but: I am a total "late" repeated offender! EEEK! I know, I know, I'm sorry! Don't throw things at me :) I don't know what the heck my problem is, but I cannot seem to make it anywhere on time! Yikes.

    Hope you are having an amazing week so far, at least Monday is over!
