Pinterest Bulletin Board

One of the sessions at the kindergarten conference I attended was all about Pinterest.  I did not attend this session, but one of my co-workers did.  I asked her about the session because who doesn't love pinterest??  She told me that in the session it was basically the presenter showing the group ideas she got off Pinterest and things she used in classroom from Pinterest.  As I was listening to her talk an idea popped into my head and I knew I had to do it right away.

I wanted to create a Pinterest board in my classroom.  So, I turned my bulletin board into this:

{I keep push pins in the corner so we can easily "pin"}

It is Mrs. Pauley's Class Pinterest Board.  The students are allowed to "pin" things on the board.  It's just instead of virtually pinning the item we are actually pinning it with a push pin.  :)

It can be a coloring page they are proud of, a writing activity they did that they liked, a favorite activity from literacy or math centers, etc.  Basically whatever they want.  Not only do the kids love this, but so do I.  We just started this so there is not much on the board yet, but I can't wait to see what they decide to "pin."

I am using this board as a way to see how my students enjoy learning.  If I see a ton of the same activity up there, then I know to create more activities like that.  I get to see their interests and likes.  This also gives them ownership in the classroom.

If you love Pinterest as much as I do, you can click {here} to follow me on Pinterest.

Have a great Monday!!  Check back tomorrow to see more insect fun from my classroom.  :)
