Getting Acquainted....Skittle Style

First of all, I have to say that my thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by the tragedy in Boston.  I was in tears this morning on my way to work hearing a first hand account of the explosion and happenings directly afterwards.  I can not even imagine what those people went through.

I decided that I needed to post something upbeat so I am linking up with Latoya today for her weekly Getting Acquainted Linky party.

This week's theme is skittles....yum!  I keep a jar of them in my classroom, but I call it "brain food".  When we have worked our brains hard we get one or two.

TOPIC - Skittles Game

Here is the code:
Red - Favorite Ice Cream Flavor
Orange - Favorite Memory from College
Yellow - Favorite Sports Team
Green - Favorite Fast Food Place
Purple - Wild Card (Tell anything about yourself)

Red - Favorite Ice Cream Flavor.....this is a hard one, but I would have to pick Sgt. Camo.  It is made by a local company and part of the profits go to military veterans groups.  It kind of tastes like a s'more. :)

Orange - Favorite Memory from College.......I went to the local community college and then attended the University in town so I never "went away" to college.  I married my husband and had my son all while still in college.  I would have to say my favorite actual "college" memory is just all the friends that I made during my time in college.

Yellow - Favorite Sports Team.....We are Bears and Cubs fans in this house!

Green - Favorite Fast Food Place.....I don't really like "fast food" places because I get sick whenever I eat anything greasy or fried.  {Doesn't mean I never do, but it does always make me sick.}  So, I am going to say Panera is my favorite fast food place.  :)

Purple - Wild Card.......Something about me is that I have an older brother and a younger sister.  My sister are exactly 9 years, 10 days, 12 hours, and 2 minutes apart.  When she was born I was fascinated with the fact that it was so close to my birthday.  It was also interesting that I was born at 3:06 in the morning and she was born at 3:08 in the afternoon.  Made it easy to figure out this weird fact....ha!

I have to tell you one quick funny story about my kinder babies.  We started learning about fairy tales this week and reading all kinds of fairy tale stories.  Yesterday we were talking about what things a fairy tale would have.  I call on one little girl {English is her third language} to tell me something about fairy tales.  She says, "They can fly."  I thought hmmmm......she must be confused so I said, "Well, if there is a witch maybe the witch can fly." Then I called on another student.  This one says, "They have wings!"  I finally realize their are telling me about FAIRIES not FAIRY TALES......ha!  I had to compose myself because I almost started laughing right then.  Not because what they were saying was funny, but because I didn't get it at first and I never thought they would get the two things confused!  Today we talked a lot about how we are learning about FAIRY TALES and not FAIRIES like Tinkerbell.  :)

Last, but not least.....my friend Regina hit 100 followers and I am helping her out with a great giveaway.  Head on over to check it out!

  3. I too love Panera Bread! I am also your newest follower!

I am hosting a linky. It all has to do with one dollar: anything that you buy, sell, find, love, or make for only a dollar. One reader just posted a diet coke—so anything goes!

  6. Aw, your kiddos are too cute! Also, Sgt. Camo sounds really yummy! I've never heard of it before. However, if it's the same Whitey's then I used to love going there for ice cream when I lived in Iowa. Sadly, I haven't been since then.
