Here is a little about this Kinder Teacher here :)
It seems like just yesterday I was starting my teaching career, but here I am ready to start my ninth year. I can't believe how fast the time has flown.
This pretty much sums me up...haha!
I couldn't chose just one favorite school supply. My favorite supply for the kids are Ticonderoga pencils, but my favorite supply for me is FLAIR PENS! Just ask my para from last year....I am pretty much obsessed.
Every single year I read this book on the first day of school. I think it helps my students realize that it will be ok at school. I also have many who will have their parents give them a kissing hand before school each day.
It is so hard to chose my favorite kindergarten blog because there are so many good ones. I am choosing Kickin' It In Kindergarten because a few years ago when I was just starting my blog Elizabeth and I connected and have been friends ever since. She is seriously the sweetest person and has some of the most amazing ideas! You need to go check out her blog!
I love teaching kindergarten because it is just a magical year. You get to see your students grow so much from August to June. It amazes me every year to see just how far they come. I can't imagine teaching any other grade!
I hope you hop on over to Kinder Tribe and link up with us for this fun linky. I can't wait to learn more about you all!
Looks like we all like Flair pens! All these coffee drinkers... I love the smell, can't stand the taste. I get my caffeine from tea. :)

It's funny you say that because I love the smell of tea, but can't stand the taste. Lol! We are definitely opposites on that one.
DeleteFlair pens & coffee! :) I love how you described our school year as magical. It's such a good word for it! Enjoyed reading your post!

Thanks Katie!
DeleteLove your list :) If I haven't had caffeine, you don't want to mess with me!!! Haha and flair pens are kind of a sick obsession!!!
ReplyDeleteMy kids know to wait to talk to mommy until I have my cup of coffee in my hand. :)
DeleteI love Kickin' It In Kindergarten, too. Elizabeth has been very kind to me and has always made me feel like I could ask her questions about blogging. Wonderful heart.
ReplyDeleteShe is pretty amazing! I am so blessed to call her my friend.
DeleteHa! I think we are the same person!! I love my flair pens too! And Elizabeth is awesome! I love the vowel surgery she did last year... SO cool!! And you are right, I don't know her too well but every time I have interacted with her she has been soooo nice ;) I love the kissing hand too but I didn't incorporate it into my B2S plans last year... this year for sure!

A Pinch of Kinder
I was thinking the same thing! We are so much alike. I feel like I have known you all my life instead of just a short time. So blessed to have you as a friend!
DeleteMet Elizabeth this year at the Kindergarten conference and you are right...she is the sweetest ever! I use the book The Kissing Hand every year too!
ReplyDeleteI think flair pens and coffee guzzling is a requirement! I have a little mini coffee maker in my closet for emergencies!

Mrs. Garcia's Super Scholars!
I am lucky because my classroom is right next to the lounge. (It's a blessing and a curse) I am able to sneak in and grab coffee as needed. :)
DeleteHi Amanda! So excited to meet you & be part of our new "kinder family"! I'm really looking forward to sharing & collaborating with you and our "tribe"! I love your blog!
ReplyDeleteAnnie Veas ~ The Learning Studio Bug :)
I am so excited too! I look forward to collaborating as well.
DeleteElizabeth Hall is :) :) :) :) I love her stuff and use it frequently! Glad to find another kinder sister!
ReplyDeleteI love Ticonderoga pencils too! Have you tried their fat triangle ones? I chop them in half to make short pencils. One side doesn't have an eraser, but I just put little erasers in a container not he tables and all is good. :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried the triangle ones, but I usually chop my pencils in half because our OT recommended it for proper pencil grip.
DeleteI HEART Coffee! I agree, Elizabeth is amazing. I am so excited to get to know you better!
ReplyDeleteMy Fabulous Class
Same here!
DeleteThanks for stopping by my blog earlier and for linking up! The Kissing Hand is a classic!
ReplyDeleteKinder Tribe is awesome!

Coffee and Flair pens are a MUST! I love "The Kissing Hand." I give each child/family a temporary heart tattoo to put on their child's hand for the first day of school. We then read the book right away in the am, and complete many projects around that book! The children right away start to make the connection between their heart and the book! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of giving the students a hear tattoo. So fun!
DeleteI love getting my coffee each day before arriving to school. "The Kissing Hand" is one of my favorites to read to the kiddos during the first week of school. 123kteach
ReplyDeleteI agree, the growth is incredible. It's hard to believe at the beginning of the year how far they will go!
